San Jose Infill Study
2013
We were approached to study the development potential of an infill site in the
Shasta-Hanchet neighborhood of San Jose.
I n s p i r a t i o n:
The property is in a neighborhood that has seen significant redevelopment over the past 10 years. Our client wanted to explore the tdevelopment potential of a formerly industrial/ warehouse site for multifamily residential.
P r o c e s s:
We began by studying local development regulations to understand the opportunities and constraints of the property; then we studied similar developments to establish a range of realistic options and realistic price points for the area; and, finally, we explored the neighborhood to get a feel for the neighborhood vibe. Several site plan alternatives were explored with the final version shown here.
